We are holding MK Marina's 4th Open Day (10am to 4pm) on May Day Bank Holiday (Monday 6th May) where local residents and people interested in finding out more about the waterways in MK are welcome to come along and enjoy the Marina. Events will include:
• Home made cakes - all monies riased on the day will go to the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
• Dragon Boat Display Team - with all the drums!
• Steam boat Beatrice on display in and out of the water
• Short canal trips on MK Afloat – get a taste of being on the canals
• MK Brokerage boat viewings including cruisers, narrowbeam, and widebeam canalboats - special offers on the day
• Canal trials on our brand new Atlanta 24 – a luxury 5 berth narrowbeam cruiser for the canal system - this is by appointment only - picked by River & Canal magazine as one of the 'best in show' boats at the London Boat Show January 2011
• Fire Brigade - boat safety checks and advice on fire safety – book a free check of your boat with us!
• The Cheese Boat, The Fudge Boat, & Pottery Boat (first year)!!
• MK Play Association Funion Bargee & face painting for children
• Craft stalls
The day is supported by IWA, Canal & River Trust, and Bedford & MK Waterway Trust, who will provide information about enjoying the waterways through Milton Keynes and their plans for the future.
